Altar Cloths

Why use an Altar cloth?

There are a couple of reasons that spring to mind.

1) Keeps altar clean.

Now this might sound like mothers housekeeping, lol, but I find if I have a cloth on my altar it discourages me from putting unrelated stuff on it.

2) It sanctifies the space

Altars are meant to be spaces of personal sanctity. A place where your special articles of worship are placed, where rituals are carried out.

3) Special rituals can have special cloths.

You might keep a cotton cloth on your altar for everyone worship/ rituals, and keep the special ones for sabbats or celebrations

It may be a good idea to cover the main working area with a piece of safety glass (get them to round the edges),

To avoid wax spills, liquid or incense ash from marking your cloth.

After all it is a tool as much as a cover.

You may prefer to work with your favourite colour,

Or one specific to a Sabbat.
